Barker Morris is a Chartered Building Company that is unique in providing specialist Structural Waterproofing design and installation services to Architects, Engineers, Main Contractors, Specialist Basement Contractors, Private Homeowners and Public Authorities.
The company was established by David Barker and Patricia Morris and specialised in the provision of consultancy services within the construction industry. Circumstances identified the need for waterproofing contractors within the professional construction market and Keith Thomas was invited to set up this new venture within the framework of the existing company.
In addition, the growing awareness of the technological advances in waterproofing materials during recent years hastened the move by the company towards the specialised and unique industry position it holds today. As a result, the company is now retained by various leading professional design practices and commercial contracting clients to not only provide initial advice on Structural Waterproofing matters but also to eventually install the most appropriate specialist system identified.
The aim was to build a young, vibrant, company but one that still retains the tried and tested principles of structural waterproofing and client satisfaction.
The strategy was to recruit people with.a practical knowledge of waterproofing who wanted to further their education and qualify to assist in the development of the company. The first addition was Dean Tennant, who had a wealth of practical experience, and fitted the demographic perfectly. A clear career path was set out which has been followed and with much hard work has resulted in Dean being our current managing director.
The company places great emphasis on training and all staff and operatives have, or are working towards, the relevant trade qualifications.
We like to stress that we are a genuine waterproofing company who specialise in the use of many different materials and systems, with the practical expertise to specify and utilize the best available material for the project.
With the relevant qualifications and P.I. insurance in place design of projects is also a service being called upon more frequently.
Barker Morris is looking to continually develop its specific expertise and expand its operations still further. Its aim within the next few years is to further establish itself as the foremost authority on Structural Waterproofing matters in the UK by continually delivering reliable quality specialist services to all its clients.

DEAN TENNANT MCIOB CSSW
Dean joined the company with a wealth of practical experience and a thirst for knowledge. Having progressed through surveying and estimating training Dean also undertook project management and has a flair for design. Steady progress made him the ideal choice for the role of managing director with the company founders safe in the knowledge that the core principles will continue.
KEITH THOMAS
With approaching fifty years experience in structural waterproofing Keith has now stepped back from front line duties but still operates in an advisory capacity and has an active roll in policy decisions.
ROBERT CAMPBELL CSSW
Rob joined us with practical experience and undertook a supervising role with enthusiasm and gained his CSSW qualification prior to taking on the role of contracts manager. A lively character who gets things done.
SCOTT ROBERTS CSSW
Scott came from an allied industry but settled in quickly and gained his CSSW qualification and has now settled in nicely into his role as estimator/surveyor and takes on board all health and safety matters. A very willing and able member of the team.
